Thank You

My daughters and I want to thank all of you for all of your sweet comments you left us about their bedroom makeover. We really enjoyed reading every thoughtful comment. It made us so happy that so many of you liked their bedroom makeover. You are all so kind. I have been blogging for less then a month and it has been such a rewarding experience for me. I wish I could send all of you flowers, to brighten your day like you do mine with your kind words. Thank you!

Thank you
Tania from Grange de Charme and Jennifer from Home Sweet Seattle for posting such nice things about me on your blogs. Both of these blogs are beautiful and full of inspiration so please check them out! Click on their blog names and it will direct you right to their blogs!

With Valentine's Day coming up, I will be sharing some pictures from my sister's wedding. She was kind enough to let me make her wedding invitations so I want to share how I made those with you as well.
Have a Wonderful Week!

A Bedroom Makeover

I thought I would share some pictures of my daughters' room with all of you. Last weekend I decided to repaint their room a light gray and the beds white. I had previously painted the walls blue, and the beds were yellow. It was a horrible combination. I am not very good at picking out COLOR for my walls. Its not that I don't like color, it is just that I can't ever get it right. After I saw Tracey's post about her daughter's room I couldn't wait to get my gray and white paint out. Tracey from French Larkspur, has a real gift for being able to make a room look and feel heavenly. Thank you Tracey, for sharing your talent with the rest of us. I am so inspired by you!

I wish I would have taken before pictures, but maybe there is a reason for that.

We had made some pompoms to hang up in the house for Valentine's Day (Martha Stewart Crafts at Michaels) We decided to use them in their room as I thought it made their room feel very festive, and then some. I know not practical pillows, but I thought it was fun to do for the pictures.

My daughter cut some of our camellias that were blooming.
I just love this color of pink.

I found these two beds a couple of years ago for $100.00 for the pair. I just put a fresh coat of white paint on them.

These shutters get moved all over the house. I needed a burst of color in their room, so for right now this is the ticket. It has their 2010 calendar hanging on it. (You might get tired of seeing these shutters in photos, but I just love them, so be warned)

I love displaying my flowers in these glass bottles. You can find these at any thrift store. They make the best flower vases, and look so pretty in the light. They are sitting atop my daughter's desk.

I love vintage mirrors, adds a little light to this side of the room.

This cabinet is made from old shutters. It houses their collection of breyer horses.

This is an old galvanized flower bucket, holding our Valentine's Day decor.

This is a chandelier that I found on ebay. Not sure of its age or origin. Just know that it is unique and looks pretty in their room. I have chandelier a.d.d. This is its third time being moved. Just when I think I have found the perfect room, and its been hung by the cowboy of the house, I then realize its not the perfect room. Of course I don't tell him, until the timing is right.

My daughter loves playing the guitar, we both love having it out on display.

I painted the room Newsprint from Lowes and the beds were painted Decorators White from Benjamin Moore. When I paint my furniture I always use a semi-gloss, I think it makes the surface a lot easier to wipe off.

I hope I didn't bore you with too many pictures (or pompoms). I really like taking photos, so I can get a little carried away sometimes.
I hope you all have a great weekend! You guys are the BEST!

At Home With White

Atlanta Bartlett is a genius when it comes to decorating with white. She has such a simple but elegant style. Reading her books (the relaxed home, easy elegance, and At Home with White) has really helped me get rid of the clutter in my home.

My favorite of the three is At Home with White. In this book she teaches you how to layer with whites and how to create a specific mood. She goes through decorating every room in the house with white. Every photo is beautiful and full of inspiration.

When you buy one of Atlanta's books its like owning a piece of art, the pictures on the cover are so beautiful. I love to display them all over my house. The easy elegance jacket has the perfect shot of color for an all white interiors.

I keep them right at my fingertips. I have yet to tire of reading them. If you can't buy one of her books at the moment, check out Atlanta Bartlett's website. She has a beautiful site and is filled with beautiful pictures.

Oh, I thought I would let you know I am working on making over my daughters' room and hope to post about it this weekend.

You guys are the most encouraging group of women I know. You are the best. Thank you again for all of your encouragement! Thank you Amy, from Buggie and Jelly Bean for putting a link to me in your post yesterday. Please be sure to check out her cute site.

Take care and have a great week!
